The corresponding author is the researcher designated to handle communication with the journal throughout the submission, review, and publication process. They submit the manuscript, respond to editor and reviewer comments, approve the final proof, and serve as the point of contact for post-publication queries. Institutional open-access agreements typically cover the APC only when the corresponding author is affiliated with a participating institution.
