SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) is a journal-level metric calculated from Scopus data using an algorithm similar to Google's PageRank. A citation from a prestigious journal carries more weight than one from a lesser-known source. SJR is freely available at scimagojr.com and is normalized across fields, making it more suitable for cross-disciplinary comparison than raw impact factor.
